KNOWING THE TRUTH WITH
CHYME IMMANUEL
Bible text- Esther 6:1-11
Prayer:
Dear Lord, I thank you for the gift of your Word. Open thou the eyes of my understanding that I may see you clearly. Amen
Teaching(Knowing the truth)
Gifts are KEYS.
I asked her to come back the next day of meeting (that same week) and when she did, I handed an envelope to her. She (unknowing how much was inside) thanked me and went home that night. The next day of counseling, both her and her husband came into the office, she was weeping thanking and blessing me, I felt so embarrassed to see a mother crying (I'm sure by then they must have paid off their debt and had extra money left to take care of the family for a little while). As a reason of that little gift of mine, when ever I'm going anywhere and I unknowingly stopped her husband (the husband is a Keke naPepe (tricycle) driver), he takes me there FREE OF CHARGE.
A gift is something given to someone or group of people voluntarily without asking for anything in return (free of Charge). In other words, it is any act of kindness shown or done to someone. This someone doesn't have to be a person from your click of friends, religion or tribe. Sometimes the person or people you're doing that act of kindness may be unqualified for it based on human standards.
A key is that instrument or means of gaining assess to a possession. It doesn't matter who is the owner of that possession, as long as the key is not with him or her, he or she loses access to that possession.
From our Passage above, we see a replay of something that had happened before. In Esther 2:19-23, Mordecai did something for the king. He heard about a plot by some of the king's men to kill him, and then he reported. The evil men were arrested, the king was saved, and it was documented, full stop.
It is impossible for me to continue without stressing this point "Any Kindness with something attached is NO kindness at all". King Xerxes was not a kinsmen to Mordecai, yes the King married his niece but he wasn't given special treatment like an in-law.
We don't know how many days, weeks, months or years were between chapters 2 and 6. I'm sure uncle Mordecai has even forgotten that he at one point saved the king's life. But one night, the King couldn't sleep! He tried and tried, nothing. So he asked that the book of records be read to his hearing. And in that same night, he read about (saw) the gift Mordecai gave to him and he asked "what have been done for him? Did we make him the Minister of saving life and happiness? What political post did we give to him?". And the servant said, none sir. This made Mordecai more troubled, he said to himself, "I need to show to this man how a king honors and responds to gifts".
You may not uncover a plot to save a king but you can buy bread for that hungry school boy. You may not be able to build a house for that poor family, but you can sponsor one of their child through primary school. Everyone has something to give no matter how little it is.
Proverbs 18:16 says "The gift of a man opens doors; it gives (him) access to important people". This place is not only talking about your talent or skill, it includes your act of kindness.
Maybe the answers to the prayers you've been praying is in your gift. Your access code is G I V E.
